According to the Decision approving the Plan for the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of the Chi Lang National Special Historical Site, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Lang Son province now has more resources for preserving and developing traditional craft villages combined with tourism ... creating an attractive tourist destination to serve tourists.
Accordingly, the main types of tourism products are oriented towards: Experiential tourism and historical learning through the system of open-air historical museums and the Chi Lang Museum; sightseeing, relaxation, and ecological landscape tourism in the historical park through walking trails along both banks of the Thuong River and the walking trail along the Chi Lang rampart.

The management agency's orientation is to promote the value of the historical site in conjunction with tourism development, targeting both international and domestic tourists, with domestic tourists being the key market; investing in the development of the site into a central tourist destination and a driving force for the development of Chi Lang commune, Lang Son province, connecting with other tourist areas and destinations within the province, region, and internationally.
Notably, this plan aims to preserve and promote the outstanding values of the historical site, making it a place for educating about patriotic traditions and enhancing national pride for generations of Vietnamese people; addressing shortcomings related to population, tourism development, and technical infrastructure; and completing the system of records and data as a basis for digital transformation and automation in management.

Furthermore, the planning process also contributes to preserving intangible cultural heritage values and the cultural identity of ethnic communities in the area surrounding the historical site; transforming the site into an attractive cultural and historical tourism complex associated with the characteristics of the Chi Lang region, a key tourist destination of Lang Son province; creating momentum for socio-economic development of the area, and improving the spiritual life of the local people…
The planning study area covers a total area of 2,428.83 hectares, including: the Chi Lang Historical Relic Site with 24 special national relic sites (284.23 hectares) and 22 national relic sites (150.41 hectares); the Chi Lang Temple (100 hectares) and the landscape area connecting the planning study areas (1,894.2 hectares).
The plan will define functional zones; provide guidance on adjusting, expanding, or narrowing the protected area for the historical site; develop plans for preserving, restoring, and rehabilitating the site; plan the spatial organization for conservation, enhancement, and promotion of the site's value; guide the promotion of the site's value in conjunction with tourism development; and plan for technical infrastructure.../.
