Developing the pharmaceutical market, Traphaco participates in discussing solutions from digital transformation
On October 19, 2024, in Hanoi, the Workshop "Developing the domestic pharmaceutical market" was held with the participation of many representatives from state management agencies, industry experts and leading pharmaceutical enterprises. Mr. Pham Hoang Anh - Deputy General Director of Traphaco participated as a speaker in the discussion session on "Drug management and supply". The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Health , Tuoi Tre newspaper in coordination with professional units, aiming to find new solutions and directions to help the domestic pharmaceutical industry successfully apply digital transformation, creating a foundation for sustainable development in the future.
Mr. Pham Hoang Anh - Deputy General Director of Traphaco represented the Company to participate in the Workshop. The workshop was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health , the Drug Administration of Vietnam, the Department of Information Technology, and leaders from many large enterprises in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, experts from universities, medical and pharmaceutical research institutes also attended to share multi-dimensional perspectives on the digital transformation trend, and assess its impacts on drug management and supply. The main content of the workshop focused on aspects such as the application of information technology in pharmaceutical production, drug supply chain management, and solutions to enhance business competitiveness through digitalization. Digital transformation is considered an important means to optimize the drug production and supply process, helping businesses reduce costs, improve product quality, and ensure transparency in information management. In addition, e-commerce and digitalization of prescription management processes are also considered key highlights of this conference.
Journalist Le Xuan Trung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper delivered the opening speech of the Workshop. One of the topics of interest at the workshop was the challenges and benefits of digital transformation in the pharmaceutical industry. Delegates emphasized that although digital transformation brings many new opportunities, helps optimize operational processes, and improves management efficiency, it also poses many difficulties for businesses in the application process. In particular, ensuring information security and compliance with legal regulations are two important factors that businesses need to pay attention to during the transformation process. Delegates from the Ministry of Health also emphasized the need to continue updating and perfecting the legal framework to support the digital transformation process in the pharmaceutical industry, while encouraging businesses to be proactive in finding solutions suitable to their scale and capacity. Cooperation between businesses and management agencies and technology solution providers is also considered a core factor to effectively promote digital transformation. 

Experts and delegates from the Ministry of Health and the pharmaceutical industry presented reports at the Workshop. Within the framework of the workshop, the discussion session on "Drug management and supply" attracted the attention of many delegates. Mr. Pham Hoang Anh, Deputy General Director of Traphaco, representing one of the leading pharmaceutical enterprises in Vietnam, shared about Traphaco's digital transformation journey and the results achieved. He emphasized that Traphaco has been a pioneer in applying advanced technology solutions to the production and supply management process of drugs, thereby improving operational efficiency and optimizing the supply chain. Specifically, Traphaco has deployed ERP (enterprise resource planning) and DMS (distribution management) systems, helping to tightly control the entire process from production, warehousing, to distribution and sales. By applying these technologies, Traphaco has reduced inventory time, optimized product distribution, and improved the ability to meet customer needs.
In the discussion session on "Medicine Management and Supply", Mr. Pham Hoang Anh did not hesitate to share the difficulties that Traphaco encountered in the digital transformation process. One of the biggest challenges is the high initial investment cost and the difficulty in integrating old management systems with new technology solutions. In addition, traditional working habits and mindset of employees are also a major obstacle, requiring Traphaco to invest in training and raising awareness for the staff. To address these challenges, Traphaco has put forward a clear and long-term digital transformation strategy, with the cooperation of technology partners such as FPT Digital. According to Mr. Hoang Anh, cooperation with technology solution providers is an important factor in helping Traphaco effectively implement digital transformation, especially in supply chain management and ensuring product quality. Expectations for the revised Pharmacy Law In addition to issues related to technology, guests also expressed expectations for the revised Pharmacy Law. According to guests, amending the provisions of the Pharmacy Law is necessary to create a favorable legal corridor for pharmaceutical enterprises in the context of integration and digital transformation. In particular, Mr. Pham Hoang Anh emphasized that the application of e-commerce in the pharmaceutical sector needs to be strictly managed but also needs flexible regulations to create conditions for business development.
Traphaco Deputy General Director Pham Hoang Anh shared in the discussion session that issues such as drug registration, e-commerce in the pharmaceutical industry, and drug price control are also topics of interest to him. He hopes that changes in the Pharmacy Law will help resolve current difficulties, while creating new opportunities for businesses in accessing the market and developing sustainably. The workshop is also an opportunity for businesses in the pharmaceutical industry to exchange and seek cooperation opportunities with technology solution providers, thereby promoting the digital transformation process more strongly and effectively. Delegates agreed that, for the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry to develop sustainably in the future, not only technological improvements are needed, but also close cooperation between stakeholders, from businesses, management agencies to technology partners. With the participation of large enterprises such as Traphaco, along with support from state management agencies and technology units, the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry is gradually moving towards a comprehensive digital future, bringing many practical benefits to both businesses and consumers.
