Da Nang: Business picture reflects market selection

DNVN - According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, the business landscape in the area has shown many positive signs as the number of newly established businesses and total registered capital increased sharply compared to the same period last year. However, the number of businesses temporarily ceasing operations and dissolving has also increased.

In the first 9 months of 2025 (from January 1 to September 15), Da Nang City issued new business registration certificates to 4,323 enterprises and 2,388 affiliated units with a total registered charter capital of nearly VND 21,500 billion; an increase of nearly 27% in the number of enterprises and an increase of more than 50% in capital compared to the same period in 2024. This result shows that Da Nang's investment and business environment is increasingly consolidated, and the confidence of the business community and investors continues to be enhanced.

Da Nang's processing and manufacturing industry is seeing many new businesses established.

In terms of industry structure, the wholesale and retail sector; auto, motorcycle, motorbike repair... dominates with more than 1,400 newly registered enterprises, accounting for more than 32% of the total number of newly established enterprises. This figure reflects the vibrant picture of the trade - service sector, effectively meeting the increasing consumption needs of people and tourists.

Meanwhile, real estate business activities stand out with the leading registered capital scale, reaching more than 4,600 billion VND, accounting for nearly 22% of the total newly registered charter capital, although there are only 114 new enterprises. This affirms the strong attraction of investment capital into real estate, at the same time providing important resources for the urbanization process and infrastructure development of the city.

Notably, the processing and manufacturing industry has 385 newly established enterprises with a total capital of more than VND 2,600 billion (accounting for 12.11%). This is a pillar industry contributing to improving industrial production capacity and creating more jobs, with up to 5,324 registered workers - accounting for more than 22% of the total number of workers of newly established enterprises.

The development of the processing and manufacturing industry in Da Nang also creates a positive spillover effect on trade, logistics and production support services, contributing to enhancing industrial competitiveness and promoting sustainable growth for the city.

In addition to the increase in newly established enterprises, the Da Nang Statistics Office also said that the business picture in the area has also had notable fluctuations. In the first 9 months of 2025, the city had more than 2,100 enterprises and affiliated units returning to operation, an increase of nearly 2% over the same period in 2024. However, nearly 6,100 enterprises and affiliated units temporarily suspended business, an increase of 15.11% over the same period last year.

At the same time, the city also had nearly 1,750 cases of dissolution, an increase of nearly 30% over the same period. These figures clearly reflect the selective nature of the market, when besides the rise of new establishment and business resumption activities, there are still many difficulties that cause a number of enterprises to temporarily suspend or terminate operations.

According to the Da Nang Statistics Office, the city government is continuing to promote solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, supporting businesses to recover and develop production and business. Policies to improve the investment environment, accelerate administrative procedure reform, promote digital transformation and innovation are contributing to creating a favorable foundation for business activities.

“These efforts not only help improve the resilience and adaptability of businesses but also create momentum to promote economic growth, contributing positively to the overall development of Da Nang in the coming period,” the Da Nang Statistical Office assessed.

One of the typical examples of the above efforts that the Da Nang Statistical Office has recorded is that from September 15, 2025, the city will deploy 100% of business registration procedures online, completely replacing the direct submission of documents at the counter. People and businesses will register through the National Business Registration Information Portal.

This policy marks an important step in Da Nang's digital transformation roadmap, contributing to the modernization of the administrative system, improving the investment and business environment, bringing maximum convenience to organizations and individuals in the area. Online registration helps to improve transparency, save time and costs for businesses and aims at sustainable development, enhancing the competitiveness of the local economy.
