The workshop was attended by more than 100 delegates from many provinces, cities and the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute.

At the workshop, delegates agreed that nuclear power development is an inevitable trend in the context of global energy transition, aiming to ensure energy security, reduce emissions and promote sustainable development. Many opinions emphasized the need for full and clear communication about the benefits, safety and role of nuclear energy, thereby creating consensus in society, especially in localities where projects are expected to be implemented.

Mr. Le Huu Tho, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, proposed to increase the application of atomic energy in socio -economic fields, especially health care; at the same time, develop high-quality human resources and promote communication to create trust among the people.

Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Tran Hong Thai said that the province is currently a locality with a solid foundation in research and application of nuclear technology, with synchronous infrastructure and a team of highly specialized staff. The Da Lat nuclear reactor has operated safely for nearly 70,000 hours; provided about 14,000 Ci of radioactive drugs to 23 hospitals; successfully researched and manufactured radiation measuring and analysis equipment for use in medicine , oil and gas, environment, etc.

In his concluding remarks, Comrade Huynh Thanh Dat - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Head of the Steering Committee for the Propaganda Project on Nuclear Power Development - emphasized that the National Assembly's re-launch of the nuclear power development policy after 8 years is an important political signal, demonstrating the determination of the Party and State in making nuclear energy a strategic lever to ensure energy security, sustainable development and implement the commitment to net zero emissions by 2050.
