Approving Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Kinhtedothi - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 466/QD-TTg approving the election results for the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc - New Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc was born in 1968; his hometown is Luong Hoa commune, Ben Luc district, Long An province. His professional qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Geology and a Master's degree in Geology. His political qualifications include advanced political theory.

Prior to being approved as Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc held the following positions: Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Provincial Party Committee Member, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Provincial Party Committee Member, Secretary of the Tan Thanh District Party Committee; Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An Province; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Long An Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Long An Provincial People's Council; and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

* Simultaneously, in Decision No. 465/QD-TTg, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also approved the dismissal of Mr. Phan Van Mai from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2021-2026 term to take on a new assignment.
