In the context of a global education landscape shifting strongly towards integrated, innovative, and practice-oriented training, STEM is no longer an option, but has become an inevitable trend and a core foundation for training the future generation of technology-savvy citizens.

In Vietnam, many secondary schools have begun implementing STEM programs, but building a well-structured program that is continuous and builds upon previous levels, and meets international standards, remains a challenging task. In this context, Phenikaa School is gradually asserting its pioneering role with a clear direction: "Leading in STEM".

International mark affirms its position.

On April 20, 2026, Phenikaa School officially received STEM.org Accredited certification from STEM.org Educational Research (SER) – one of the world's leading accreditations for educational institutions that meet the highest standards in the STEM field.

Notably, the school was honored in the Top 5% of "Best in STEM" organizations globally with the title "Best In STEM". This is an independently selected award that recognizes institutions with outstanding innovative initiatives and tangible impacts on learners.

Achieving these two international certifications simultaneously is not only a testament to the quality of education but also positions Phenikaa School as one of the pioneering high schools in Vietnam striving towards global educational standards.

The STEM.org Educational Research evaluation process is implemented based on a comprehensive system of criteria: from curriculum design, classroom organization methods, teacher competence to facilities, student participation levels, and sustainable development orientation.

The evaluation results noted that Phenikaa School stands out for its comprehensive investment in creative spaces, modern lab systems, robotics programs, and experiential learning models. Students not only access knowledge but also directly participate in solving practical problems, thereby developing scientific thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills.

"Leading in STEM" – When STEM becomes a distinctive program.

Phenikaa School has chosen to make STEM a strategic development axis and one of the five subjects that represent the school's unique identity.

The STEM program is designed for comprehensive education from grades 1 to 12, and offers advanced training for talented and science-loving students with a clear roadmap, ensuring continuity and development tailored to students' abilities at each stage.

This approach is consistently implemented based on four perspectives when designing STEM programs: ensuring suitability for all students, giving all students the opportunity to access STEM education; closely connecting with real-world applications, with each learning project stemming from real-life problems or stories; aiming for holistic development, respecting differences and nurturing each student's unique strengths; and simultaneously fostering talent, creating opportunities for students to explore and develop outstanding abilities in the field of science and technology.

This comprehensive and consistent approach helps Phenikaa School gradually affirm its "Leading in STEM" orientation, aiming to become a pioneering school in STEM education within the Vietnamese secondary school system.

Sharing her thoughts on this milestone, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, General Director of Phenikaa School, said: “Achieving STEM.org Accredited certification and being honored in the Top 5% of “Best STEM” organizations globally is a significant milestone for Phenikaa School.

However, more importantly, it is recognition for a sound strategy with a long-term vision that we have consistently pursued since the school's inception – making STEM the core foundation for developing students' competencies.”

She further shared that Phenikaa School does not view STEM as merely a subject, but rather as a journey to shape and build comprehensive thinking and competencies for students – the future generation of global citizens – aiming to equip them with the ability to apply learned knowledge to life, problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing world.

“Leading in STEM” is not just a strategic vision, but a commitment of Phenikaa School to pioneering educational innovation in Vietnam. According to Ms. Huong, in the coming time, the school will continue to invest heavily in the program, expand research and creative activities, and strengthen international connections to provide more development opportunities for students.

The achievements are not only a source of pride for the school itself, but also proof that high schools in Vietnam can absolutely achieve international standards if they have the right strategy and long-term, systematic investment.

As a member of the Phenikaa Group's Innovation Ecosystem, Phenikaa School is developed with the support of its parent company (Phenikaa Group) on a foundation of close collaboration and mutual support with member units within the Group; gradually working with Phenikaa University to create the Phenikaa Education System, a continuous education system from secondary to postgraduate levels, oriented towards experiential learning and innovation according to international standards.

Building upon this foundation of internal strength, the school is steadfastly pursuing its goal of becoming a leading STEM education school in the region – where students not only possess solid knowledge but also develop innovative thinking, creative abilities, and the capacity for integration, ready to create value for a sustainable future.

Founded in 2001, STEM.org Educational Research is a leading global organization for STEM education research and certification. It has collaborated with the international education community, including researchers, teachers, administrators, NGOs, and businesses, to develop a globally applicable STEM assessment standard.
