"The Hermit Crab ," the brainchild of director Dinh Tuan Vu, grossed 7.9 billion VND in its first week of release, according to Box Office Vietnam . This revenue figure is not among the most outstanding.
On June 1st, The Haunted Shell grossed 587 million VND, with 8,657 tickets sold across 1,355 screenings, averaging 6-7 viewers per screening. Currently, the film ranks third at the box office, after Doraemon – a highly influential brand in the Vietnamese market – and the fifth installment of the The Haunted Temple film series.
"The Haunted Shell" is also the only Vietnamese film currently remaining in the top group at the box office. In fact, this is a low point for the domestic market, with not many new films being released. Meanwhile, the big blockbusters released around April 30th have reached the end of their release cycle and no longer have the same strong competitive edge as before.

The film "Hermit Crabs " is a Vietnamese psychological mystery film directed by Dinh Tuan Vu. The film features a cast including Quoc Truong, Tieu Vy, Anh Pham, Yen Dan, Anh Duc, Luong Gia Huy, and musician Nguyen Van Chung.
The film's plot revolves around Quân, a man plunged into crisis after his wife, An, dies in an accident. Things become complicated when An's spirit is believed to return to the body of Ngọc, a young woman also involved in the incident. From here, Quân is drawn into a whirlwind of love, guilt, and intertwined relationships from the past.
The most notable aspect of "The Hermit Crab" lies in its use of spiritual elements to explore the hidden aspects of married life and human psychology. Instead of following a purely horror approach, the film focuses more on plot twists, suspicion, and the gradual revelation of the characters' darker sides. However, the film has also faced some mixed reviews online.
