On September 28, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that its Northwest Traffic Police Station had detected and handled 13 cases of violations related to alcohol levels in breath; one of the cases involved a state official.
At approximately 8 PM on September 27th, in front of house number 454 on Provincial Road 8, Phuoc Vinh An commune, Cu Chi district, a task force from the Northwest Traffic Police Station stopped and inspected a motorbike driven by a man named VD.
According to the breathalyzer test results, Mr. VD had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.346 mg/L in his breath.
Officers and soldiers of the Northwest Traffic Police Station proceeded to draw up an administrative violation report for this case.
According to information from this man, as well as through the examination of relevant documents, it is known that Mr. VD is currently the Deputy Head of the Civil Enforcement Department of a district in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Traffic Police Department will send a violation notice to Mr. VD's agency for coordinated handling according to regulations.
In provinces and cities across the country, traffic police are emphasizing the need to strictly handle all cases of traffic safety violations, especially those involving alcohol intoxication.
Traffic police are implementing a special campaign on "Alcohol Concentration Checking" using various methods such as: checking alcohol levels based on international experience, mobile patrols, etc. During the execution of their duties, traffic police officers are instructed to strictly enforce regulations, adhering to the principle of "no forbidden zones, no exceptions" as directed by the Government and the Ministry of Public Security .
In cases where a driver is found to be intoxicated while driving and is a government official, civil servant, or Party member, the traffic police will record relevant documents, verify the information, and send a violation notice to their workplace for disciplinary action and processing according to regulations.
