The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province inspected forest protection and medicinal plant cultivation under the forest canopy.

Accompanying them were representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Forest Protection Sub-Department, and several relevant departments, localities, and units.

During his working visit to the western districts of Nghe An province on March 1st, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De assessed the situation and results of the forest protection forces' work in Ky Son, Que Phong, Quy Chau, and Quy Hop districts. The delegation also visited and inspected economic models of medicinal plant cultivation under the forest canopy in Na Ngoi commune (Ky Son district).

In Na Ngoi commune, the delegation visited the Ngoc Linh ginseng cultivation model of Ngoc Linh Ginseng Pharmaceutical Group JSC; and the medicinal herb cultivation model of TH Group in Na Ngoi commune.

At the medicinal herb production area, meeting with workers, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee gathered information about the characteristics and effects of various medicinal herbs; the natural conditions suitable for cultivation; and the predicted economic efficiency of medicinal herb cultivation models under the forest canopy.

Comrade Nguyen Van De suggested that collectives and businesses engaged in production and cultivation to develop the economy under the forest canopy, in addition to caring for crops, should also pay special attention to coordinating with local authorities and functional forces to protect the environment and forests, ensuring compliance with regulations and effectiveness.

After visiting the medicinal plant cultivation model, Comrade Nguyen Van De and the delegation visited, presented gifts, and encouraged officials and staff of forest protection and management stations in Na Ngoi and My Ly communes (under the Ky Son Forest Management and Protection Board), Chau Thon commune (under the Pu Hoat Nature Reserve), Cam Muon commune (under the Pu Huong Nature Reserve), and the Quy Hop Forest Management and Protection Board.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also visited and congratulated the Na Ngoi Border Guard Station, the Buoc Mu Border Control Station, and the Nhon Mai Border Guard Station on the occasion of the Border Guard Force's Traditional Day (March 3).

Also on March 1st, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the scene of the deforestation incident in Huoi To village, Mai Son commune, Tuong Duong district.
