Tien Yen walking street, a bright spot in tourism at the crossroads of the Northeast region

Operating since August 2017, over the past 6 years, Tien Yen walking street has become an attractive destination for many domestic and foreign tourists when coming to the land at the crossroads of the Northeast. With the theme "Ancient soul, old features, Tien Yen street", Tien Yen walking street is not only a place for entertainment and recreation for people and tourists but also a place to preserve many cultural and traditional beauties typical of Tien Yen district.

Many cultural, physical education and sports activities are performed at Tien Yen walking street.

Tien Yen ancient town is located in the space of Tien Yen town. According to statistics, Tien Yen town still has nearly 40 old houses, built since the 1980s, concentrated in the neighborhoods of Ly Thuong Kiet, Quang Trung, Thong Nhat... Here, there are still houses with ancient architecture, old houses. In addition, the ancient town also retains interwoven Eastern and Western architectural styles, creating a diverse architectural picture. Based on this idea, Tien Yen district has organized meetings to discuss solutions to build a walking street with the aim of preserving ancient architectural culture and being a place to promote Tien Yen tourism . After completing the establishment of the Tien Yen walking street Steering Committee with the support and positive response of the people, on August 2, 2017, Tien Yen walking street was officially opened with the theme: "Ancient soul, old features, Tien Yen street", operating every Saturday evening.

Ethnic costume corner to be brought to walking street in 2023 — The ethnic costume corner will be included in the walking street in 2023.

When it was first established, the Walking Street was deployed on two streets: Hoa Binh Street and Ly Thuong Kiet Street. Over time, Tien Yen Walking Street continued to be expanded to create more new and unique spaces to serve the people and tourists.

Currently, Tien Yen walking street has built 3 streets including: Food Street, Folk Culture Street and Market Street. In particular, the most impressive thing about Tien Yen walking street is the main stage of the walking street, where special cultural activities take place every Saturday evening. In addition to the cultural exchange performances of famous artists from inside and outside the province, what attracts viewers to Tien Yen walking street is the cultural programs with the cultural identity of the district's ethnic groups, performed by non-professional actors from 11 communes and towns in the area.

Coming to Tien Yen walking street, visitors can also experience interesting cultural activities at the folk game corners: corner displaying traditional costumes, painting, painting statues, reading books for free, calligraphy corner or music corner, street dancing... Along with that, visitors can also enjoy typical dishes with strong Eastern flavors made by Tien Yen people.

Traditional games attract a large number of tourists and locals to participate on Tien Yen walking street.

In order to create new space for people and tourists to Tien Yen walking street, in 2022, Tien Yen district invested in expanding the walking street on the bank of Tien Yen river with a windmill road creating an attractive space for tourists.

According to statistics, in the 6 years since its establishment, the total number of visitors to Tien Yen walking street is about 800 thousand people. Of which, visitors from outside the district are about 400 thousand people and international visitors are about 6 thousand people.

At the same time, continue to improve the quality of performance activities, streets to attract tourists from all regions, connect tourist routes inside and outside the district, making Tien Yen walking street an impressive destination for tourists when coming to Tien Yen”.
