Deputy Prime Minister urges construction progress of Long Thanh airport

The Government Office has just issued Document No. 3475/VPCP-CN, conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on the implementation of the investment project to build Long Thanh International Airport Phase 1 and connecting traffic routes (Project).

Specifically, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the ministries of Public Security, Agriculture and Environment; Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, Vietnam Airports Corporation to urgently implement to ensure the progress of construction items (especially packages at risk of not meeting the schedule), complete synchronously, put the Project into operation according to the direction of the Prime Minister (basically completed in 2025).

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the People's Committee of Dong Nai province direct relevant agencies to ensure timely and adequate supply of materials for the Project as directed by the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Construction shall preside over and coordinate with investors to review and determine the completion time for each bid package, component project and the entire Project to ensure synchronization when put into operation, promote efficiency, avoid waste; monitor, urge and inspect the Project implementation process, promptly handle difficulties and problems, and report to the Prime Minister on issues beyond its authority.

The Ministry of Construction, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province and relevant localities and agencies deploy traffic routes connecting to Long Thanh International Airport under the direction of the Prime Minister and the Working Group.

Long Thanh International Airport Project includes 4 component projects: Component project 1 (headquarters of state agencies); Component project 2 (works serving flight management); Component project 3 (essential works); Component project 4 (ground service works).
