Vinaconex's Deputy General Director becomes Vimeco's Chairman

ANTD.VN - Mr. Tran Dinh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vinaconex, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vimeco effective March 18, 2025.

Vimeco Joint Stock Company (stock code: VMC) has just announced the Resolution of the Board of Directors regarding the election of the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the term 2023 - 2028.

Accordingly, Vimeco has decided to appoint Mr. Tran Dinh Tuan as Chairman of the Board of Directors effective March 18, 2025.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Tuan served as a member of the Board of Directors of Vimeco. Simultaneously, he also held the position of Deputy General Director at Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Corporation (Vinaconex, stock code: VCG).

Mr. Tran Dinh Tuan, born in 1978, holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics specializing in Finance and Banking and a Master's degree in Business Administration.

Notably, Mr. Tuan's appointment took place in the context of Vinaconex having successfully sold over 12.1 million VMC shares on December 23, 2024, thereby reducing its ownership stake in Vimeco from 51.41% (equivalent to 13.4 million shares) to 5% (equivalent to 1.3 million shares). As a result, Vinaconex officially ceased to be the parent company of Vimeco.

At Vimeco's annual general meeting on March 18th, in response to a shareholder's question regarding Vinaconex's divestment, the Vimeco Board of Directors affirmed that, in addition to the ownership relationship, the relationship between Vinaconex and Vimeco is also that of business partners and strategic partners for many years.

Vinaconex still has its Deputy General Director, Mr. Tran Dinh Tuan, as a member of Vimeco's Board of Directors. At the same time, Vinaconex will continue to rely on Vimeco's unique potential and strengths. These advantages will not be affected; on the contrary, Vimeco will be more proactive in its production and business operations.

In addition to appointing Mr. Tran Dinh Tuan, Vimeco also elected two more members to the Board of Directors.

Specifically, the two Deputy General Directors, Mr. Nguyen Dac Truong and Mr. Vu Minh Hoang, have both been appointed as Members of the Board of Directors.

Conversely, the company has also decided to dismiss Mr. Duong Van Mau from his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Member of the Board of Directors, and to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Khac Hai from his position as Member of the Board of Directors, effective March 18, 2025.

Previously, both leaders had submitted their resignations, citing the need to fulfill certain assigned duties within Vinaconex.

It is known that Mr. Duong Van Mau is currently a member of the Board of Directors and the Permanent Deputy General Director of Vinaconex, while Mr. Nguyen Khac Hai also holds the position of Deputy General Director of Vinaconex.
