Việt NamViệt Nam11/03/2024

Located in southwestern Vietnam, in the Gulf of Thailand, Phu Quoc Island is known as the jewel of Vietnam. Its dreamy, peaceful beauty is evident in the crystal-clear turquoise waters, the long stretches of white sand beaches shaded by lush green coconut trees, the vibrant coral reefs, and the verdant primeval forests. Amidst this natural landscape, the simple, genuine people emerge in the fishing villages, beside the vast green pepper plantations. The scenery is breathtaking.
Bai Truong Beach : Phu Quoc is famous for its pristine, peaceful islands and stunning beaches. With the longest and most beautiful coastline in Phu Quoc, Bai Truong Beach attracts visitors with its turquoise waters gently lapping against golden sand, swaying coconut trees, rocky outcrops, and fishing villages nestled in the open sea. As the sun sets, the sky and sea are painted a vibrant red. Phu Quoc National Park : Located in the northeast of the island is Phu Quoc National Park. Amidst the lush green primary forest, crystal-clear streams, cascading waterfalls, and many rare animal species can be found. Three major mountain ranges – Ham Ninh, Ham Rong, and Ganh Dau – boast a beautifully winding coastline. Ham Ninh Fishing Village : At the foot of Ham Ninh mountain lies a tranquil fishing village bathed in the fiery red glow of the setting sun. From the undulating rooftops along the shore to the floating houses on the open sea, fishermen step onto their boats and begin their journey racing against the waves, harvesting the bounty of the sea. Phu Quoc Prison : Phu Quoc not only boasts beautiful nature but also hides profound historical and cultural values. Phu Quoc Prison was where Vietnamese revolutionary fighters were imprisoned during the resistance war against the US, and was likened to a hell on earth with many barbaric forms of torture. Today, these torture methods are recreated through wax models, leaving visitors deeply moved. Cuisine
Phu Quoc cuisine is famous for its delicious and nutritious dishes made from fresh seafood such as steamed lobster, steamed crab with lemongrass, sea cucumber porridge, grilled sea urchin, grilled abalone, barracuda, seafood soup with Tram mushrooms, grilled grouper, herring salad… Phu Quoc has a delicious seafood specialty: fish sauce, made from the finest anchovies. Phu Quoc fish sauce has a dark reddish-brown color, a characteristic mild aroma, and a rich, salty-sweet flavor with a natural richness from the anchovies. The fish sauce is used as a seasoning, bringing a unique and delicious flavor. While exploring Phu Quoc, you can also enjoy many other delicious dishes such as: Bun Ken (a type of noodle soup), free-range chicken stewed with green chili, palm sugar rice cake, Banh Kheo (a type of rice cake), fish cake noodle soup, sim wine… Bun Ken is a popular dish in Phu Quoc families, made from barracuda or silverfish, mashed and then fried with fragrant garlic. The delicate sweetness of the fish, the rich aroma of coconut milk, and the hint of spiciness from the chili peppers all combine to create a delightful culinary feast for every diner.
