According to statistics, from 7:00 p.m. on August 24 to 7:00 a.m. on August 26, heavy to very heavy rain occurred in the province. The rainfall measured at some stations ranged from 200-270 mm, the highest at Dinh Cu Hydropower Plant (Quyet Thang Commune) with 270.4 mm. On the main rivers, the water level at many points exceeded alert level I, and in some places exceeded alert level II, such as the Boi River (Hung Thi station +12.47 m, 1.47 m above alert level II).
Before and during the storm, Phu Tho province and the Provincial Steering Committee for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue issued many telegrams and documents directing sectors and localities to deploy response measures. On-site forces were mobilized promptly to support people in overcoming damage, evacuating people from dangerous areas, and regularly updating warnings to the grassroots.
Up to now, 52 houses have had their roofs blown off or damaged in the communes of Son Luong, Xuan Vien, Ha Hoa, Dao Xa, Tam Nong, Van Son, and Tu Vu. 181 households (647 people) had to be urgently evacuated to ensure safety.

Many areas of rice, corn, crops, and fruit trees were broken and flooded. Traffic infrastructure in some localities such as Chi Dam and Dao Xa was eroded, with rocks and soil spilling onto the roads, obstructing traffic.
In addition, in Ha Hoa commune, 4 electric poles were knocked down, 9 households suffered landslides with a volume of about 2,600m³. Some schools and cultural houses had their roofs blown off and were damaged...
On the morning of August 26, functional forces mobilized and coordinated to support the evacuation of nearly 200 households with more than 700 people from the dangerous area to safe shelters.
In Cao Son commune, facing the high risk of landslides in Enh hamlet, the authorities and functional forces promptly took 51 households with 151 people to shelter at Chi Enh Kindergarten. The participating force consisted of 35 people (15 militiamen, 20 officials from local departments and agencies) from departments, agencies and localities who helped people move their belongings and temporarily stabilize their lives.
In Hoa Binh ward, the household of Ms. Nguyen Thi Van (2 people) in Group 1 (old Quynh Lam ward) was deeply flooded and was also evacuated to a safer place.
Localities at high risk of landslides such as Cao Phong, Muong Thang, Mai Ha, Muong Vang, Nat Son, Van Son, Muong Dong also urgently checked and evacuated people. Specifically: Cao Phong has 19 households, 92 people; Muong Thang has 16 households, 72 people; Mai Ha has 48 households, 195 people; Nat Son has 16 households, 82 people; Muong Dong has 37 households, 131 people; Bao La has 3 households, 14 people.
Heavy rains also caused water levels to rise at many culverts, causing flooding, isolating some residential areas and cutting off traffic. The local Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue continue to closely monitor developments and coordinate closely with local authorities to mobilize and assist people to get to safety. Monitoring, warning and response to floods and landslides are being carried out synchronously to minimize human and property damage.
