According to Director of Thai Nguyen Provincial Library Bui Huy Toan, in 2025, the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest was widely deployed to 448 schools in Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces before merging with the participation of nearly 110,000 students. After the school-level round, the provincial contest received nearly 11,000 entries and 117 video clips from students in 448 schools.
This has aroused a passion for reading in the school system, encouraged and promoted the reading and following book movement among the young generation, formed reading habits and skills for students, and contributed to developing a reading culture in schools and the community.
Teachers guide students to participate in the contest closely following the content to choose the exam questions that are suitable for their abilities and strengths, so the quality of the entries is quite good, with many good and unique ideas, showing the innocence and understanding of the students according to each age. Many entries are beautifully presented, creative, with beautiful handwriting, vivid illustrations, and decorations that match the content of the entries.
The Jury has judged, the Organizing Committee has awarded individual prizes to 81 winning contestants, including 3 Reading Culture Ambassador titles, 6 first prizes, 12 second prizes, 18 third prizes, 42 consolation prizes, 21 thematic prizes; and awarded collective prizes to 13 schools with many participating contestants and many winning contestants.
The Organizing Committee selected 9 best articles and 3 video clips to participate in the national competition organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Director of Thai Nguyen Provincial Library Bui Huy Toan said: The contest has received attention from leaders at all levels, sectors, agencies and local units, so it has had a great influence in the school system, becoming a meaningful extracurricular activity.
The contest is getting bigger and better organized, attracting more and more participants than last year, not only attracting the attention of many students but also the attention of parents, teachers.
Through the entries, it is shown that reading culture has had a positive impact on the formation of students’ intelligence, awareness, and personality. Compassion, altruism, and caring for others have been formed and nurtured through reading. Some students have brought books and their love of books to disadvantaged situations in the community.
