A gang of motorbike thieves who stole and sold the goods abroad was caught.

On August 29, information from Nghe An Provincial Police said that a group of 8 subjects with many criminal records committed more than 20 motorbike thefts, then took the motorbikes abroad to sell, and were just arrested by this unit.

Nghe An Provincial Police identified Nguyen Van Dai (born in 1998) and Bui Quang Vinh (born in 1999), both residing in Hoa Quan Commune, Nghe An Province, as the leaders of the gang.

Both Dai and Vinh are subjects and have previous convictions for fraud and drug addiction.

To have money to buy drugs for personal use and spending, these two subjects lured and gathered many bad people, including relatives and people from the same hometown as Dai and Vinh, namely Tran Dinh Canh (born in 2000), residing in Dai Dong commune, Nghe An province and Nguyen Nhu Duc (born in 2001), residing in Hoa Quan commune, Nghe An province to commit the act of stealing motorbikes.

This group often splits into pairs, riding motorbikes with fake license plates to apartment buildings, boarding houses, restaurants, etc. to listen and look for opportunities to strike.

During the crime, the subjects assigned people to keep watch, the time to break the lock and steal the vehicle only took 1 minute.

The police agency determined that after being stolen, the motorbikes were to be sold to Nguyen Van Kien (born in 1997), residing in Dien Chau commune, Nghe An province; Nguyen Khoi Nguyen (born in 2009), residing in Tan Ky commune, Nghe An province; Pham Huy Hoang (born in 2006), residing in Vinh Loc ward, Nghe An province and Tran Bao Long (born in 2004), residing in Dai Dong commune, Nghe An province.

After buying motorbikes from the above subjects, Kien, Long, Nguyen, and Hoang colluded with a number of other subjects to bring the motorbikes abroad for sale.

From August 21 to 28, Nghe An Provincial Police arrested 8 subjects for theft of property and consumption of property obtained by others through crime.

At the Investigation Agency, the subjects initially confessed that from June 2025 to the time of arrest, they had committed 21 motorbike thefts in Nghe An province, with a total property value of more than 350 million VND.

Nghe An Provincial Police are temporarily detaining the above subjects to further investigate the case.
