Speaking at the seminar, General Secretary To Lam expressed that the relationship between the two countries over the past 50 years has always been one of trust and mutual respect; wishing to continue promoting substantive, extensive and effective cooperation, especially in the fields of science, technology and innovation.
Emphasizing that the world is witnessing remarkable developments in science and technology, especially when artificial intelligence becomes a key driving force for economic growth and transformation of the development model of countries, the General Secretary affirmed that Vietnam wishes to accompany advanced countries to share common visions and values to build a better world, so that AI serves people, for people, helps people become more intelligent, creative, more compassionate and for peace and prosperity. Vietnam always welcomes and is ready to receive and test pioneering and breakthrough ideas from experts and scientists to create new models and new values for humanity in the AI era.
At the discussion, technology experts assessed that there are few countries in the world that have developed as dynamically as Vietnam. From a poor country, Vietnam has risen to become one of the most competitive economies with a young workforce proficient in digital skills. Progress in administrative reform and openness in international cooperation have positioned Vietnam as an important partner in the global network of trustworthy digital countries. Some opinions recommended that in order for artificial intelligence to truly serve the socio-economic development process and improve people's lives, the government needs to focus on building a trustworthy digital infrastructure, developing AI standards that ensure privacy, fairness and transparency...
General Secretary To Lam expressed his impression of the opinions and ideas presented by experts and managers with extensive experience in the field of artificial intelligence, and said that the solutions and recommendations were very suitable for Vietnam's development orientation and goals. The General Secretary said that he would assign competent agencies to research and coordinate to clarify the content, and move towards implementing specific steps to turn ideas into projects and programs in Vietnam.
Emphasizing that the seminar is a meaningful first step, contributing to opening a journey of long-term and deeper cooperation, the General Secretary expressed his hope that in the coming time, experts will continue to accompany and support Vietnam in developing AI in particular and science and technology in general, especially sharing knowledge and experience in planning national AI strategies, developing digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystems. Along with that, it is promoting investment, technology transfer, and AI application in key areas such as healthcare, smart agriculture, digital education; implementing key programs on science and technology, especially new and pioneering fields to help Vietnam build a creative and self-reliant economy.
On this occasion, the General Secretary respectfully invited experts and scientists in the field of artificial intelligence to Vietnam to have more time to discuss and work directly with the authorities planning and implementing Vietnam's science and technology policies in order to soon turn the ideas shared at the seminar into reality, bringing new cooperation models with many new values.
