Along with medical examination and treatment activities, the program also organizes many charity activities, gift giving, cultural and artistic exchanges, with a total material value of more than 500 million VND.
Muong Leo commune is a particularly difficult border area of Son La province, with rugged terrain, many villages are nearly 100km from the old Sop Cop district center. The people are mainly H'Mong, Thai, Kho Mu... ethnic groups, their lives are still full of deprivation, and medical care conditions are limited. Many people do not have the habit of regular health check-ups, making disease detection and treatment difficult.

The program brings together more than 100 highly skilled doctors from central and local hospitals such as: 108 Military Central Hospital, Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, Hung Vuong General Hospital and a number of major hospitals in the northern provinces.

At the examination point, the team arranged 6 initial examination tables, 15 general internal examination tables, 9 specialized examination rooms (eye, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, testing, obstetrics, ENT, dentistry, dermatology...) and a pharmacy room.
The team of doctors transported many modern medical equipment from Hanoi to serve the people such as mobile X-ray vehicles, refractometers, hematology testing machines, ultrasound machines, electrocardiograms...

Through examination, doctors discovered many cases that needed intensive treatment, advised people on health care, disease prevention, and formed the habit of regular health check-ups.
In addition to medical examination and treatment, the delegation also provided advice on primary health care skills to about 400 students of Muong Leo Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, such as: How to handle nosebleeds, burns, and how to brush teeth properly.

The delegation presented 1,000 books, stories, cakes, and milk to students; organized haircuts and souvenir photos; had cultural and artistic exchanges with officials and people of Muong Leo commune and border guards through the program "The Great Forest Night Resounds with Songs"; presented 350 gifts to poor households, along with a TV set and solar-powered batteries to Muong Leo Border Guard Station.

To make the program effective, the Son La Provincial Border Guard Command has directed Muong Leo Border Guard Station to widely inform the people, support the transportation of the elderly and seriously ill people for examination, arrange military medical staff to participate, translate ethnic languages, ensure logistics and security and order.

The program was a great success, leaving deep impressions in the hearts of people in border areas about the sense of responsibility and dedication of doctors, officers, soldiers of the Border Guard and participating organizations, contributing to strengthening the solidarity between the army and people, spreading the spirit of humanity in the Fatherland's border.
