On May 20, news from the Office of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province said that Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa province, has just signed to approve the investment project to build a project to preserve and reinforce the Hon Vong Phu relic belonging to the An Hoach Mountain Art Relic and Scenic Area (Nhio Mountain), An Hung Ward, Thanh Hoa City.
Hon Vong Phu scenic spot on Nhoi mountain is at risk of collapsing after being struck by lightning twice.
In this decision, to ensure that the blocks of Hon Vong Phu are not separated, the construction unit will use the method of drilling core holes, then reinforcing with steel fibers inserted with SIKA GROUT 214-11 mortar to reinforce along the vertical direction.
When pumping SIKA grout, the grout will be inserted into the cracks on the borehole wall, covering the D14 steel fibers to form strong fibers that can withstand tension and compression to prevent cracks from developing, and bundle the separate elements of the block due to cracking and crumbling into a solid block that cannot be separated.
Stone pillars are peeling and cracked after being struck by lightning.
The amount of money that Thanh Hoa province spent to save this scenic spot is 17 billion VND, from the provincial budget. The completion time is before December 31.
As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Hon Vong Phu has been struck by lightning many times. The most recent time was in June 2022, lightning struck Hon Vong Phu, causing a landslide of a 1x3 m (West) and a 2.5x3 m (East) rock block, with many cracks appearing, leaning vertically from 10 to 15 degrees, at risk of collapsing if struck by lightning again.
Hon Vong Phu relic is located among former stone quarry sites.
To find conservation solutions, at the end of 2023, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province organized a scientific workshop, consulting with experts and scientists.
In May 2024, Thanh Hoa City People's Committee built a lightning protection system with a total cost of more than 800 million VND right next to the relic, and at the same time built fences and warning signs strictly prohibiting people from going up the mountain to visit and burn incense.
Hon Vong Phu scenic relic is located in the An Hoach Mountain Art and Scenic Relic Complex (also known as Nhoi Mountain; An Hung Ward, Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Province). It is a stone pillar about 20 m high, resembling a woman holding a child. This relic is considered one of the famous scenic spots of Thanh Hoa Province.
This relic cluster was recognized as a National Monument by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 1992, including: Thuong Communal House, Hinh Son Pagoda, Quan Thanh Pagoda, Tomb of Duke Le Trung Nghia and Hon Vong Phu.
