Dong Ngac Ward promptly supports people affected by storm No. 5

After listening to the reports from the sectors on the flooding situation and the damage, the level of impact and urgent solutions, Chairman of the Ward People's Committee Nguyen Van Hach directed the establishment of 2 Working Groups led by leaders of the Party Committee and the Ward People's Committee as team leaders and commanders, to go to the deeply flooded areas to survey, collect statistics and grasp the situation of the people to provide timely support.

The working group focused on supporting residents with necessities, clean water, and disinfection; coordinated to immediately provide free clean water and 300 lunches to residents of 2 urban areas to ensure food safety; and compiled statistics on relief for the following days if the flooding persists.

The ward police dispatched forces to ensure security and order, and promptly support people when necessary. The military and security forces at the grassroots level supported people with iron boats to move people and belongings out; transported food and provisions into buildings to help people. The health station arranged human resources and disinfectants to disinfect all buildings to ensure disease prevention.

Immediately after the meeting, the leaders of the Party Committee, the People's Committee of the ward and the specialized departments directly went to the Ecohome and Resco urban areas to visit and encourage the residents, survey the situation and have a relief plan to ensure the people's lives. Through the actual survey, the above areas are currently flooded from 60 - 80 cm deep, many buildings are flooded in the basement, electricity and water are cut off, so it has significantly affected the people's lives.

At Ecohome urban area, Party Secretary, Chairman of Ward People's Council Ngo Van Nam, Chairman of Ward People's Committee Nguyen Van Hach directly directed forces to support the transportation of necessities and people, coordinated with Cau Giay Clean Water Enterprise to provide clean water to residents in the buildings, and supported 300 free meals for people at noon.

At Resco urban area, the working group led by Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thi Huong recorded that the security and order situation was stable, with no complicated incidents. The traffic system was difficult to move, and there was flooding affecting people's lives. A water tank at OCT 5 building showed signs of pollution due to flooding. Currently, the building is using the remaining water tank to serve the daily needs of the people. On the side of the OCX 3 apartment buildings, there is an area of low-lying houses, high water levels, and a risk of power outages.

At the same time, the Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee requested that the secretaries, team leaders, and building management boards continue to encourage and support the people in terms of ideology and psychology, and accompany the Ward People's Committee in responding to and resolving the aftermath of storm No. 5; continue to closely monitor and update information in the urban area and promptly report to the Ward People's Committee when incidents arise.

Along with developing specific plans and solutions to respond and handle bad situations, avoiding situations where electricity and water must be cut off in urban areas, secretaries, team leaders, and building management boards must grasp the needs and necessities of individuals and families in difficult circumstances and promptly report to the ward.

Regarding a water tank showing signs of contamination at OCT 5 building, the ward leader suggested stopping its use. After the water recedes, the tank will be cleaned and the ward health station will coordinate with the cleaning work before the water tank resumes operation.

In addition to assigning the Infrastructure - Technical Project Management Board to organize a working session with the Hanoi Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. Branch - Drainage Enterprise No. 2 to propose a drainage plan in the urban area, the ward leader also requested to contact the transportation unit to support people moving in the urban area.

Up to now, the Ward People's Committee has held a meeting with the Branch of Hanoi Drainage Company Limited - Drainage Enterprise No. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the ward headquarters to propose a drainage plan for the urban area. The ward has arranged specialized vehicles to transport people through the flooded section from Resco apartment buildings to Pham Van Dong Street to ensure safety for people when going to school and work.

In addition, the ward has operated a pumping station in the Resco urban area to support rapid drainage; synthesized people's support needs to provide timely assistance; organized 24/7 on-call duty to resolve related issues to ensure security and order and support residents to ensure their lives.
