PSG convincingly defeated Liverpool.

As expected, Liverpool, in their weakest form in years, were unable to spring a surprise against reigning champions PSG in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on the morning of April 9th.

Last season, Liverpool suffered a bitter defeat against PSG when the two teams drew in 180 minutes of regular time in the Champions League round of 16. The French team then won in the penalty shootout.

Liverpool are desperate for revenge, but are currently powerless to do so. The "Reds" are in serious crisis this season, while PSG are playing very consistently.

But that was all Liverpool managed to do in this match. They didn't create a single clear-cut chance, while PSG had countless.

From the end of the first half to the beginning of the second, PSG created at least 3-4 clear-cut scoring opportunities, but those chances were repeatedly missed by Dembele and then Doue.

However, given consistent opportunities, PSG will sooner or later increase their lead.

In the 65th minute, Kvaratskhelia scored to make it 2-0. The Georgian striker received a pass from Joao Neves, skillfully dribbled past a series of Liverpool players, and finished successfully.

If PSG's strikers had been more precise, the home team could have even unleashed a barrage of goals in the final 30 minutes of the match.

Liverpool were completely disappointing in the second half. "The Egyptian King" Salah wasn't even brought on for the match. But even stars like Wirtz, Ekitike, and substitutes like Isak and Gakpo still failed to make an impact.

PSG ultimately won 2-0 against Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. While this is a favorable result for PSG, Liverpool still have a good chance of overturning the situation, as they will play at home at Anfield in the second leg.
