The journey to conquer Pu Ta Leng usually begins from Ta Leng commune. Along the mountain climbing route, tourists pass through ancient forests covered in green moss, cool streams, and diverse vegetation. In spring, thousands of rhododendron trees bloom brightly amidst the mountains, creating a spectacular scene and becoming the most popular time of year for tourists.

Beyond its captivating scenery, Pu Ta Leng offers visitors a close-to-nature experience and a sense of accomplishment. After hours of trekking through the forest and climbing steep slopes, the reward for climbers is a sea of swirling clouds and a majestic mountain landscape viewed from an altitude of over 3,000 meters.

According to many local travel agencies, the number of tourists participating in trekking tours in Pu Ta Leng has been trending upwards in recent years, especially during the dry season and the rhododendron flowering season. This is considered a positive sign for the development of ecotourism and experiential tourism in Lai Chau .

Along with exploiting its natural potential, the locality also focuses on developing community-based tourism linked to ethnic culture. Many households in Ta Leng commune participate in homestay services, porter jobs, tour guiding, or providing food and beverage services for tourists. Through this, tourism is gradually creating additional livelihoods and increasing income for people in the highlands.

Ms. Do Thi Tuyen, Head of the Tourism Management Department of the Lai Chau Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: Lai Chau is orienting its tourism development towards a green and sustainable direction, using natural landscapes, ethnic cultural identity, and local experiences as the foundation for building a destination brand. Among these, Pu Ta Leng is identified as one of the typical discovery tourism products, contributing to promoting the image of Lai Chau tourism to domestic and international tourists.

“Pu Ta Leng is one of Lai Chau's signature tourism products. The province is focusing on promoting it, while also linking tourism development with the conservation of natural resources and raising awareness of environmental protection,” Ms. Do Thi Tuyen emphasized.

Besides its great potential, tourism development in Pu Ta Leng also requires the protection of the pristine forest ecosystem. Local authorities and relevant units have intensified efforts to raise awareness and encourage tourists not to litter and to limit the use of single-use plastics on trekking routes.

Many travel clubs and trekking groups also regularly organize activities to collect trash and clean up mountain trails in order to preserve the natural landscape. This is considered a necessary direction for developing sustainable tourism in the area.

Besides Pu Ta Leng, Lai Chau also boasts many other famous destinations such as the Dragon Cloud Glass Bridge, Sin Ho Plateau, Sin Suoi Ho community tourism village, and Bach Moc Luong Tu peak. This diversity of resources is helping the locality gradually assert its position on the tourism map of the Northwest region.

With its majestic landscapes, unique ecosystem, and rich experiences, Pu Ta Leng is not only an attractive destination for adventurous tourists but is also becoming a highlight contributing to the development of Lai Chau tourism in a green and sustainable direction.
