Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, targeting the mid-range segment with the aim of bringing AI features to affordable smartphones.
This is a completely new upgraded version of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip launched in 2023. Previously, Qualcomm only introduced slight upgrades, Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 in 2024.
According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 has a 65% increase in AI performance compared to the previous generation, bringing a significant leap. This ability allows smartphones to integrate large languages and perform AI tasks directly on the device, minimizing data transmission to protect information security.
On the other hand, AI is also deeply applied to the camera, optimizing exposure and autofocus tasks. Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 not only improves AI performance, but also improves overall performance by 27% and graphics processing is 30% stronger than previous chip versions.
Smartphones equipped with Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chips are expected to appear on the market this month, promising to bring a more advanced technological experience to users in the mid-range segment.
