According to ABC News, the US military said it shot down three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and one missile targeting the destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) in the Red Sea.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the three UAVs and one anti-ship ballistic missile were launched from areas in Yemen controlled by Houthi forces. The incident caused no casualties or damage to the destroyer USS Carney. According to CENTCOM, U.S. forces destroyed three anti-ship missiles and three UAVs in other Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.
Earlier, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said that the group had carried out multiple missile and drone attacks on two US destroyers in the Red Sea. The Houthis declared they would launch further attacks on US and British ships as the two countries continued their airstrikes against the group.
