AFU reserve units, including special forces of the National Guard of Ukraine, were also mobilized to Leontovichi and Pokrovsk.

After fighting south of Pokrovsk for about a month and a half, the reinforcement units south of Pokrovsk city had lost almost all their troops, allowing the Russians to retake the areas previously recaptured by the AFU counteroffensive, including defensive positions on the southern and southwestern approaches to the city.

Now the Russians not only occupied the outskirts of Pokrovsk, but also controlled part of the city itself. More importantly, the RFAF controlled the tactically valuable heights on the southern outskirts of Pokrovsk, giving them the “high ground” advantage over the enemy in this sector of the front.

The RFAF's complete control of the village of Leontovichi, coupled with their earlier capture of the village of Troyanda, marked the opening south of Pokrovsk, allowing Russian forces to move towards the Ukrainian garrison's western supply routes.

One of them was the supply route to the Ukrainian garrison in Pokrovsk, namely the T-0406 route, which was now cut off by the RFAF in the Kotlino and Udachny areas, southwest of the city. The next task was for the RFAF to cut off the E50 route, which leads to Pavlograd and Dnepropetrovsk.

The AFU holding the Grishino node is crucial to holding Pokrovsk now, as the RFAF from the Kotlyne bridgehead in the south is attacking Grishino with FPV UAVs.
