The main artery of National Highway 7A has been seriously eroded at many points, many sections are deeply submerged in water, making it impossible for road vehicles to access highland communes.
This morning, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, directed the use of helicopters to supply food, provisions and essential items to people in the isolated area of Nghe An.
The Air Defense - Air Force sent Mi-171 helicopters taking off from Hoa Lac airport ( Hanoi ) to Vinh airport (Nghe An) to carry out relief missions.
The flight carried food, including instant noodles and bottled water in sufficient quantity.

After landing at Vinh airport (Nghe An), the pilots and crew will continue to receive a large amount of food supplies prepared by Military Region 4.
Present at Vinh airport to direct the relief work, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh, Commander of Military Region 4, requested that the units coordinate closely to ensure the task is carried out quickly, accurately and absolutely safely. In particular, no one is left behind. Relief must be fast, accurate and absolutely safe.
The Commander of Military Region 4 also requested that logistics and medical units prepare backup packages to ensure that supplies to people are not interrupted in the coming days.
The Air Defense - Air Force has made two trips carrying 4 tons of goods to support people in Tuong Duong and Muong Te, which are completely isolated due to heavy floodwaters after storm No. 3 swept through.
The Air Defense - Air Force is conducting its third flight, planning to carry out five flights carrying eight tons of cargo.
