In recent times, counterfeit goods, imitation goods, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights have had negative impacts on people’s lives and health and the development of many manufacturers and businesses. Therefore, the management and control of product and goods quality needs to continue to be given attention.

To ensure product quality, businesses must first establish clear standards and regulations applicable to products and goods; at the same time, monitor and control quality at each stage of production. Currently, many businesses in the province are establishing basic standards, and at the same time applying national and international standards and regulations in production and business activities to meet the requirements of consumers and partners, and improve competitiveness in the market. In the first 9 months of 2023, the Department of Science and Technology issued 20 notices of conformity declaration, 18 notices of conformity declaration for products and goods of manufacturing enterprises in the province.

This helps to control production activities in workshops as well as ensure the quality and safety of finished products.

Along with the proactiveness and positivity of enterprises, functional levels and branches have strengthened the management and control of product quality through inspection, examination and quality survey activities. In the first 9 months of 2023, the Department of Science and Technology Inspectorate conducted 4 inspections on standards, measurement and quality at 58 organizations and individuals operating in the fields of production and business such as: Gasoline, oil; electricity, electronics; animal feed production; food production and processing... In addition, each year, the Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality (Department of Science and Technology) regularly conducts inspections and surveys on standards, measurement and quality for hundreds of organizations and individuals producing and trading in the province. The inspection, examination and quality survey work focuses on the following contents: The announcement and application of standards and regulations; product and goods quality according to regulations; ensuring measurement in production and business; labeling of goods... In addition to rapid testing of a number of quality indicators, the inspection, examination and survey teams of the Department of Science and Technology also conduct random sampling of products and goods sent for testing at testing centers to specifically and accurately assess quality. Thereby, promptly detecting, handling and correcting violations, at the same time propagating and disseminating to raise awareness and consciousness of organizations and individuals about ensuring product and goods quality in the production and business process.

In addition to the specialized inspection and examination activities of the Department of Science and Technology, the control of product quality, goods and circulation on the market is also regularly carried out by the market management force and the police. Every year, the province detects and handles hundreds of cases and violations of goods trading with the main violations being: Trading goods without clear origin; trading goods with signs of smuggling, goods violating industrial property rights...

In the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology will continue to implement solutions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of coordination in the inspection and examination of product and goods quality between specialized agencies and specialized forces such as market management, customs, police and between provincial and district-level units, thereby contributing to the health of the market, ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of producers and consumers.
