Accordingly, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province decided to approve the addition of 38 projects for changing the land use purpose of rice cultivation land and protective forest land in 2024, which had been approved by the Provincial People's Council in Resolution No. 24, dated July 11, 2024, and to approve their inclusion in the 2024 land use plan of the districts, towns, and cities of: Nam Giang, Tay Giang, Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen, Que Son, Hiep Duc, Thang Binh, Bac Tra My, Nui Thanh, Dien Ban, and Tam Ky.
The total area of land converted for other uses across the 38 additional project categories is 70.57 hectares. This includes 17.98 hectares of land specifically for rice cultivation, 0.33 hectares of other rice cultivation land, and 0.33 hectares of protective forest land.
Of these, 20 project categories utilize state budget funds with a total area of 52.53 hectares, and 18 project categories utilize non-state budget funds with a total area of 18.04 hectares.
The localities with the highest number of additional project categories are Dien Ban town and Que Son district (12 projects each).
The Provincial People's Committee requests the People's Committees of districts, towns, and cities to publicly announce the list of projects for changing the land use purpose of rice land and protective forest land that have been approved and added to the 2024 land use plan, and to implement land procedures and invest in projects in accordance with the law; and to update the results of the 2024 land use plan implementation to report to the Provincial People's Committee as prescribed.
For proposed projects involving the conversion of rice paddy land for industrial cluster development: a thorough environmental impact assessment should be conducted, along with plans for relocation, resettlement, and appropriate vocational retraining support for those affected by land acquisition and conversion of rice paddy land before project implementation, especially for projects with large areas of rice paddy land.
