Quang Ngai will strengthen market inspection and control on a wide scale, focusing strongly on e-commerce, goods of unknown origin, and intellectual property infringement to prevent smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods by 2030.
This is the central focus of Plan No. 2885 recently issued by the Quang Ngai Department of Industry and Trade. The plan aims to improve the effectiveness of state management, protect consumer rights, maintain market stability, and create a healthy competitive environment for businesses.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, the fight against smuggling, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement will be implemented regularly, continuously, and synchronously. In particular, the e-commerce sector has been identified as a hotspot requiring increased monitoring due to the increasingly complex risk of counterfeit and substandard goods.
Market management forces are tasked with intensifying inspections of business activities and goods circulation; promptly detecting and strictly handling violations related to smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, and goods of unknown origin. At the same time, coordination with the police, border guards, and local authorities will continue to be strengthened to improve the effectiveness of the fight against smuggling and trade fraud.
Along with inspection activities, Quang Ngai also focuses on promoting legal awareness regarding e-commerce and consumer rights protection; building databases and applying digital transformation in managing goods circulating in the market.
Authorities will publicize a hotline to receive public complaints; and require businesses to sign commitments not to trade in smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, or substandard goods, especially on digital platforms.
