Starting in July, Quang Ngai province will begin charging fees for the temporary use of roads and sidewalks.

- From July 1st, 2026, Quang Ngai officially applies a fee for the temporary use of roadways and sidewalks for activities such as stockpiling construction materials, collecting waste for construction projects, and parking vehicles.

According to the Resolution passed by the Provincial People's Council at its 3rd session, the fees in urban areas for the stockpiling of construction materials and waste collection are 4,000 VND/m²/day; and for vehicle parking, the fee is 2,000 VND/m²/day or 30,000 VND/m²/month depending on the usage period. In rural areas, the corresponding fees are 2,000 VND/m²/day for the stockpiling of construction materials and 1,000 VND/m²/day or 10,000 VND/m²/month for vehicle parking.

The resolution also stipulates several cases where fees are waived, such as impoverished households, people with meritorious service to the revolution, people with disabilities, parking areas serving funerals and weddings, and activities serving public service purposes. All collected fees will be remitted 100% to the state budget, contributing to improved management and use of roads and sidewalks, and ensuring urban order in the province.
