Out of a total of 79 connection points nationwide, Quang Ninh province is honored to have 4 connection points, including 1 central connection point (direct connection point) at the High-Class Complex Tourism Service Area Project in Van Don Economic Zone and 3 online connection points at the following projects: Investment and construction of the Outpatient Clinic at Quang Ninh Provincial General Hospital; Ha Long Green Complex Urban Area in Ha An ward; and Investment, construction and business of technical infrastructure in Tuan Chau Concentrated Digital Technology Park Project.
At the central location of the Van Don Special Economic Zone, Sun Group officially commenced the construction of the high-end integrated tourism service complex project with a total investment of over 2 billion USD, in the presence of Central Committee member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh; Central Committee member and Director General of the Voice of Vietnam Radio Do Tien Sy; and representatives of leaders from central and local ministries and agencies.
With a total investment of over 2 billion USD, the project is built on an area of over 244 hectares, following a modern and integrated model, becoming a high-end tourism, resort, entertainment, and gambling complex, hosting world-class events, and an attractive destination for the world with main activities including: casino operations; real estate business, tourism services, hotels, resort villas; a complex of shopping malls, offices, conference and seminar facilities; and high-quality fitness, sports, entertainment, and healthcare facilities.
Also in Van Don, the inauguration ceremony for phase 1 of the Crystal Holidays Harbour Van Don tourism, resort, and entertainment complex, invested by Everland Group with over 5,600 billion VND, took place. With 5 sail-shaped towers and a 1,500-seat international convention center, this is a new architectural highlight on the shores of Bai Tu Long Bay.
In Bai Chay ward, BIM Group has commenced construction of the Aria Bay Towers commercial, service, and residential complex, comprising over 2,300 apartments with long-term ownership, adding to the high-end tourism ecosystem.
Transforming strongly towards a digital and green economy, Quang Ninh is welcoming a series of large-scale manufacturing projects. In Tuan Chau ward, FPT Group has commenced construction of the Tuan Chau Concentrated Digital Technology Park (with an investment of 138 billion VND), aiming to become a regional center for artificial intelligence and big data.
Another connected project is the Ha Long Green Complex Urban Area project in Ha An ward, affirming the scale of smart urban mega-projects.
In the manufacturing sector, the Tonly Vietnam Company's smart electronics manufacturing plant project in Dong Mai Industrial Park commenced construction with an investment of VND 1,700 billion and a capacity of 19 million products per year. Industrial infrastructure was also strengthened with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Bach Dang Industrial Park infrastructure investment project, covering over 176 hectares in Lien Hoa ward, aiming towards a modern port-based industrial park model.
Regarding high-tech agriculture, two major projects were simultaneously implemented: the TH Group's high-tech dairy farming and milk processing project in Dam Ha commune (with a capital of 3,440 billion VND) and the BIM Group's Dam Ha industrial aquaculture and breeding center combined with a solar power plant (with a capital of 1,837 billion VND), uniquely integrating aquaculture and renewable energy.
The province's transportation arteries continue to be improved with a series of key projects. In the eastern region, the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 4B section through Quang Ninh (with a capital of 1,558 billion VND) has been launched, strengthening connectivity with Lang Son. The section of National Highway 10 through Yen Tu ward is also being upgraded with a capital of 488 billion VND.
The Cua Luc Bay area witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony for two strategic roads with a total investment of over 5,000 billion VND, including: the Northwest coastal road of Cua Luc Bay (connecting Troi 2 Bridge - Love Bridge) and the extended coastal road (from Tran Quoc Nghien Street to Bang Bridge).
In addition, the project for the road passing through Song Khoai Industrial Park (with a capital of 1,315 billion VND) and the Song Chanh Bridge construction project have also been started, completing the network connecting the Ha Long - Hai Phong expressway with Dong Trieu.
During this special event, Quang Ninh province also commenced and inaugurated many healthcare and housing projects, much to the anticipation of the people; among them, the inauguration ceremony of Dong Trieu Regional General Hospital. Simultaneously, three other major upgrade projects were also launched: the outpatient clinic at the Provincial General Hospital (with a capital of 1,240 billion VND); the expansion of Vietnam-Sweden Uong Bi Hospital (with a capital of 1,300 billion VND); and the second phase of the expansion of Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital (with a capital of 665 billion VND).
To realize the dream of secure housing, a series of large-scale social housing and worker housing projects have been launched, including: the Polygon 3 social housing project (invested by BIM Group) providing over 2,500 apartments; the SGO We City project in Ha Tu ward providing nearly 1,500 apartments; and the social housing project in Cao Xanh ward providing 300 apartments. For workers, the province has started construction of the Viet Hung Industrial Park worker accommodation (providing 1,500 accommodations) and the Khe Cham Coal Company employee housing complex (360 apartments) in Cam Pha.
In Thong Nhat commune, the waste-to-energy plant project, with a total investment of over 4,500 billion VND, has been launched, solving the problem of household waste treatment using advanced technology.
In the frontline of the sea and islands, the storm shelter for fishing boats in the Co To special zone (with a capital of 658 billion VND) officially came into operation. At the land border, the project of river embankment protection project in the border area of Marker 1320/1(2) in Hoanh Mo commune and the area of Marker 1349/1(2)+229m to 1349/1(2)+729m in Hai Son commune was also inaugurated, contributing to maintaining national sovereignty.
The series of 31 projects, simultaneously launched and inaugurated on December 19th, is considered to be of special significance to Quang Ninh, demonstrating its aspiration for progress and breakthroughs in development. It not only contributes immediately to the growth target for 2026, with the theme of the year being "Breakthrough in economic growth; improving urban quality, soon achieving the criteria of a centrally-governed city," but also prepares the necessary conditions to enter the 2025-2030 development phase, requiring more comprehensive, decisive, and effective reforms, aiming to further improve the quality of life and happiness of the people.
