The National Assembly passed a resolution to amend and supplement a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution with 100% approval.

BBK - In the working session this morning (June 16), the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution and the Law on Organization of Local Government (amended), creating a constitutional basis for implementing the Party's policies and a solid legal corridor for the country's socio-economic development.

The National Assembly voted to pass a Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution.

At the beginning of the session, after listening to the Vice Chairman of the Committee for Drafting Amendments and Supplements to a Number of Articles of the 2013 Constitution, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh presented a Report explaining, accepting and revising the draft Resolution, the National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution of the National Assembly amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution.

After being accepted and revised, the draft Resolution submitted to the National Assembly for approval has 2 Articles. Of which, Article 1 amends and supplements 5 articles and clauses of the current Constitution (including Article 9, Article 10, Clause 1 of Article 84, Article 110 and Article 111); Article 2 stipulates the effective date of the Resolution, the termination of the operation of district-level administrative units and transitional provisions.

With 470/470 delegates participating in the vote in favor (reaching 100%), the National Assembly passed the Resolution of the National Assembly amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution.

Next, after listening to the Minister of Home Affairs on behalf of the Government present the Report on explanation, acceptance and revision of the draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended), the National Assembly voted to pass the Law on Organization of Local Government (amended) with 466/466 delegates participating in the vote in favor (100%).

The adoption of these particularly important Laws and Resolutions is a historic decision of the 15th National Assembly, when it promptly institutionalizes the Party's policy on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined, strong, efficient, and effective; creating a constitutional basis for the arrangement of agencies of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State, perfecting the model of organizing two-level local governments.

After the Resolution amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Law on Organization of Local Government (amended) was passed by the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued 34 resolutions on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units together with Resolution No. 202/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units, which will create a complete and synchronous legal basis, ensuring that all administrative units across the country uniformly implement the 2-level local government model and administrative units formed after the arrangement will officially operate from July 1, 2025.

Also in this morning's session, the National Assembly voted to pass three draft laws, including: Law on Teachers; Law on Employment (amended); Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising./.
