According to observations by a reporter from Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper at over 8 am on the same day, the section from the Vung Tau intersection to the Gate 11 area (heading from Dong Nai to Ho Chi Minh City) had a very high volume of vehicles, moving very slowly, and at times almost coming to a standstill.

Some drivers say this section of the highway frequently experiences traffic jams in the morning during the outbound journey. The opposite direction becomes congested in the late afternoon due to the large number of trucks carrying goods. This section of the highway is heavily congested with vehicles coming from Ho Chi Minh City ( Hanoi Highway) and Dong Nai.

Recently, the area around Gate 11 has been barricaded in preparation for upgrades, and the road section passing through Phuoc Tan ward has also been partially blocked for repairs.

Many drivers have expressed their desire for the completion and commissioning of component 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project to alleviate the increasingly severe traffic congestion on National Highway 51. They also urged the authorities to comprehensively upgrade the national highway connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai to ensure the safety of vehicles using the road.

According to the Dong Nai Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, component project 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is expected to be technically opened to traffic at the end of April.
