(Dan Tri Newspaper) - From January 1, 2025, license plates for cars and motorcycles will be issued according to the standards stipulated in Circular No. 81/2024/TT-BCA.
The Ministry of Public Security has just issued Circular No. 81/2024/TT-BCA on the National Technical Standard for Vehicle License Plates, which will take effect from January 1, 2025.
This standard specifies the structure, specifications, technical requirements, testing, sample storage, preservation, and production of vehicle license plates; the recognition of test results; and the organization of implementation for license plates of motor vehicles and specialized motorcycles.
Accordingly, the regulations stipulate that vehicle license plates must be made of aluminum alloy; have a reflective film, ink (or paint); a clearly embossed police security symbol; and the letters, numbers, and symbols must be embossed with a height of 1.7mm (±0.1).
The license plates are guaranteed to be the correct size, quality, and security; the letters and numbers are sharp and clear, with no ink smudging, making the information easily recognizable; the reflective film is bonded to the aluminum alloy plate without air bubbles. All the letters and numbers are arranged symmetrically on the license plate.
