The collection of poems consists of more than 40 poems, composed in the 1960s, when the Vietnam War was raging and the anti-war movement was spreading globally. Selected by poet Angelina Gatell, Together with Vietnam brings together great names of Spanish poetry such as Rafael Alberti, Gabriel Celaya, Gloria Fuertes...

Compiled in 1968, but due to its anti-war and anti-imperialist content, the collection of poems was censored and banned from publication by the Franco dictatorship. In 2016, the manuscript of the collection was found in the censorship agency's archives and was officially published.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Director and Editor-in-Chief of Kim Dong Publishing House Vu Thi Quynh Lien affirmed that more than half a century ago, in a faraway country in Southwestern Europe, anti-war poems were written by Spanish poets not only with their pens, but with their hearts for Vietnam. Although they had never set foot in Vietnam, Spanish intellectuals and artists who loved peace and justice stood side by side and supported the Vietnamese people through their own artistic activities.

Spanish Ambassador to Vietnam Carmen Cano De Lasala also said that the book is not only a link connecting the two nations, but also a poetic space to help the Vietnamese public learn and explore Spanish literature through great contemporary names.

The Vietnamese version was translated by Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung (Hanoi University). In this edition, 12 Vietnamese and Spanish artists participated in the illustrations, creating a special artistic dialogue between poetry and painting. The event took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, with support from the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the Spanish Embassy in Vietnam.
