In the digital age, consumers have easy access to healthcare information, but understanding and applying accurate medical knowledge remains a challenge.
A 2026 study of over 3,500 Vietnamese people showed that 85.5% could search for health information online, but 67.3% lacked the capacity to properly assess and apply it. This situation was particularly evident among parents.
The mission of providing nutritional guidance for the community.
According to the Vietnam Digital Mom 2025 survey, 64% of mothers regularly read parenting blogs and websites; 68% trust online reviews, and 47% consult social media groups. This shows the significant influence of digital media, but also carries the risk of spreading unscientific nutritional trends, affecting children's development.
In this context, the Council for Applied Scientific Nutrition uses evidence-based medicine to assess nutritional trends, helping the community distinguish between scientific knowledge and unfounded rumors. Nearly 20 experts, associate professors, doctors, and reputable physicians from major hospitals and medical facilities participated, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Minh Huong; Dr. Luu Thi My Thuc; MSc. Dr. Pham Cong Luan; Meritorious Physician Dr. Truong Huu Khanh; and Meritorious Physician Dr. Dang Thi Kim Huyen.

The council focuses on organizing scientific forums centered around the topic of nutrition, while also disseminating standardized knowledge across various media platforms to help dispel misunderstandings and misguided nutritional trends.
Dr. Pham Cong Luan, MD, MSc - professional advisor of the council - said: “The participating doctors all want to contribute more to the community beyond medical examination and treatment. Therefore, we will work together to build the Council for Applied Scientific Nutrition into an official scientific forum, helping people access reliable nutritional information.”
Principles of transparent and independent operation.
The council operates on a two-tiered professional structure: a group of expert advisors, comprised of leading specialists, responsible for developing and evaluating content based on evidence-based medicine; and a group of expert physicians responsible for conveying knowledge in an easily understandable and accessible way to the community. This ensures professional consistency while bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and practical application in daily life.

To protect the integrity of science, the Council for Applied Scientific Nutrition operates on strict principles. Objectivity is paramount, with all discussions and publications based on scientific reports and clinical data from reputable organizations. With a non-commercial orientation, the council is committed to not accepting advertising and not being influenced by the interests of any brand or corporation. Simultaneously, social responsibility is also central to its activities, demonstrated through its goal of becoming a reliable support system to help mothers alleviate the pressure of information overload and unprofessional social media groups.
Aiming to build a sustainable foundation of nutritional knowledge.
The first workshop was held with the theme: "Understanding correctly - the right start to establish a double shield - digestion and immunity in young children." Here, experts focused on providing a scientific perspective on the role of the digestive and immune systems in the early years of life, clarifying common misconceptions among parents.

This will be a long journey, requiring the collaboration of professionals, the media, and the entire society to create sustainable change.”

To maintain and expand professional activities, the program is supported by Nutifood, which provides resources for implementation, contributing to ensuring the continuity of scientific and educational activities in nutrition, aiming to improve public awareness and health.
In particular, the council receives media support from a reputable media outlet in Vietnam. This ensures that the council's scientific message will be disseminated widely and effectively.
