Since the beginning of June, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has launched the "Around Me" application on smartphone platforms (App Store or Google Play), in the context of E10 bioethanol fuel beginning to be sold nationwide. The application's three main features are searching for gas stations, reporting problems at gas stations, and tracking the fuel refueling history of personal vehicles.

With the gas station location search feature, users can select filters, for example, to search for places selling E5 or E10 gasoline, or to find the nearest, cheapest, or operational location.
After E10 officially replaced RON95 gasoline, many users of older vehicles (pre-2000) that were rarely or improperly maintained sought out E5 gasoline retailers, but this was not a systematic approach. Therefore, this feature was highly appreciated by many users.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, data from the application will support regulatory agencies in monitoring the market and managing petroleum business operations more effectively.
When submitting complaints about gas stations, users can select issues such as selling at incorrect prices, hoarding fuel, failing to issue invoices, or problems related to fuel quality. Users can attach descriptions and images as evidence when submitting these complaints. The request will then be forwarded to the relevant authorities for processing according to regulations. Users need to register an account to perform this action.
Finally, the app also allows users to track fuel consumption and the cost per refueling. This data enables car owners to detect significant discrepancies, which could stem from poor fuel quality or technical issues with the vehicle causing higher consumption.

The rollout of the application coincides with Vietnam's nationwide transition to distributing E10 gasoline starting June 1st. The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that it will strengthen efforts to receive feedback from citizens and businesses in order to promptly address violations related to fuel quality.
Notably, the Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that if a vehicle malfunction is determined to be due to fuel quality, the fuel supplier will be held primarily responsible. Consumers are advised to stop using fuel upon detecting any unusual signs and contact the relevant authorities or the supplier for assistance in inspection and resolution.
