After the launching ceremony, the offshore fishing fleet of Phu Thuan commune set sail.

In recent years, Phu Thuan commune has encouraged fishermen to actively stay at sea to exploit and fish offshore and invest in increasing exploitation capacity. Up to now, the whole commune has over 200 means of exploitation and fishing; including 49 offshore fishing boats. Phu Thuan has 10 boat solidarity groups, 3 offshore fishing federations, 1 nearshore fishing association and 1 lagoon fishing association; 1 platoon of maritime militia.

In 2023, the marine exploitation output of Phu Thuan commune reached 5,600 tons, exceeding the set target. Exploitation has been associated with the protection of aquatic resources and the protection of sovereignty and security of the maritime border, contributing to the transformation of economic and labor structure towards development and sustainability.

At the launching ceremony of the 2024 fishing campaign, the leaders of Phu Thuan commune called on all fishermen to continue to actively go out to sea and stick to fishing grounds, focus on investing in improving offshore fishing capacity and fishing effectively to increase productivity and the highest output, constantly improve living standards, and strive to reach 6,000 - 8,000 tons of total output.

Exploiting the potential of the marine economy must be associated with protecting aquatic resources and protecting sovereignty and security at sea, thereby contributing with the Party Committee to successfully implement the local socio-economic plan targets for 2024.
