The rapper said, “Growing up with half Vietnamese blood, I’ve always been proud of that identity. Expressing this through music in an international project feels natural and right. What we create connects cultures in a way that is authentic to both.”

Tyga also said that collaborating with Son Tung M-TP was an opportunity for him to experience Vietnamese culture firsthand, from musical style to visuals in music videos.

According to Forbes , "Come My Way" marks a new collaboration between Son Tung M-TP and a Western artist. The song, released on online music platforms last weekend, was co-written and composed by Son Tung M-TP, Tyga, and Grammy-nominated producer Marvey Muziqyue.

The article calls Son Tung M-TP the "Prince of V-pop" of this generation. Forbes notes that the 31-year-old singer has had a significant influence on the music market since his debut in 2011, consistently ranking high on Vietnamese music charts. Son Tung M-TP's style is described as a blend of Vietnamese folk elements with R&B, soul, hip-hop, pop, hyper-pop, EDM, and tropical house.

Forbes praised the combination of Son Tung M-TP's musical style with Tyga's West Coast hip-hop and party rap, resulting in a smooth R&B track that blends afrobeats, catchy hooks, and energetic rhythms. This collaboration is considered a good fit for Son Tung M-TP's strategy of expanding into the international market.

The music video for "Come My Way" was filmed in Vietnam and downtown Los Angeles, showcasing the intersection of two cultural spaces. In the video , Son Tung M-TP appears on a bronze Lac bird statue, suspended above the streets of Downtown Los Angeles. This image is juxtaposed with scenes of him performing with dancers wearing Xuan Pha folk masks, against the backdrop of Trang An, Ninh Binh.

Meanwhile, Tyga's scenes have the distinctive feel of an American hip-hop music video, with the DeLorean DMC-12 appearing on a rooftop in downtown Los Angeles. The cultural fusion is clearly shown in the detail of the DeLorean and the mythical bird appearing side-by-side.

In addition, Forbes also mentioned the previous collaboration between Son Tung and Snoop Dogg on "Hãy trao cho anh " (2019).

Sơn Tùng and Tyga's MV " Come My Way" has now reached over 21 million views after 4 days of release.
