The post quickly sparked heated debate, but eagle-eyed fans pointed out silly mistakes in the leaked photo.

Specifically, Kylian Mbappe's name is misspelled, and even the official name of Inter Milan ("Internazionale") is incorrect. These errors have led many to believe that this is a fake list with no real-world value.

According to Le Parisien , the results of the Ballon d'Or are always kept strictly confidential. The editor-in-chief of France Football , Vincent Garcia, confirmed that even the management of L'Equipe magazine – the parent company – does not know the identity of the winner.

"I will keep it a secret until the very last minute, even if it displeases some people," Garcia emphasized.

The 2025 Ballon d'Or awards ceremony will take place at the Chatelet Theatre in France on the morning of September 23rd. Ousmane Dembele and Lamine Yamal are the two leading contenders for this award.
