Of these, one individual, approximately 1.1 meters long and weighing around 70 kg, was found dead on the evening of May 14th. The other individual, approximately 1.5 meters long and weighing around 100 kg, appeared older, moved more slowly, and had many oysters and seaweed clinging to its shell; it was still swimming around the Nhon Ly sea area.

According to observations over the years, from around June to September in the lunar calendar, female sea turtles often come ashore to lay eggs in some coastal areas of Nhon Ly and Nhon Hai in Quy Nhon Dong ward and Nhon Chau commune.

Local community groups protecting aquatic resources are urging residents and tourists to promptly report any sightings of sea turtles underwater or on the beach so that authorities, community groups, and local governments can coordinate support and create favorable conditions for safe breeding, contributing to the conservation of this rare animal species.

According to scientists , after decades of swimming in the ocean, female sea turtles will return to the exact beach where they hatched to lay their eggs. This special navigational ability of mother turtles has yet to be scientifically proven.
Mother turtles often choose a spot with soft sand, dig a "nest," lay dozens of eggs, then skillfully cover them with sand, while also creating several fake nests to deceive predators.
Protecting nesting grounds is considered vital for the survival of sea turtle populations. Because they are rare, highly endangered animals that play a crucial role in the marine ecosystem, they require urgent protection.
