Blessed with suitable soil and the skillful, diligent, and creative hands of its people, Cam Ha is gradually becoming one of the "capitals" of ornamental kumquat cultivation in Central Vietnam.

The kumquat trees in Cam Ha are uniquely shaped and colored, contributing to the supply of ornamental plants in Hoi An and surrounding areas with trees bearing lush green leaves and abundant golden fruit, symbolizing wishes for a new year filled with good fortune.

Over the years, this has been one of the most popular ornamental plants on the market for display and decoration during Tet (Lunar New Year) in Central Vietnam.

According to statistics, in 2024, Cam Ha commune had 283 households growing kumquats on an area of ​​65 hectares, with approximately 71,000 trees, generating revenue of about 48 billion VND. This contributed to improving the socio -economic life of the locality.

This year, the "9th Cam Ha Ornamental Kumquat Tree Festival - 2025" will be held on January 9th and 10th, 2025 at Trang Keo residential area, Cam Ha commune, Hoi An city, with many interesting and attractive activities for locals and tourists to participate in and experience.

Potted kumquat trees, some over 3 meters tall and worth tens of millions of dong, were displayed at the festival, attracting a large number of locals and tourists who came to admire and take photos, filled with joy as the new year arrived and the Lunar New Year was approaching.

According to Mr. Mai Kim Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Ha commune, the cultivation of kumquats in Cam Ha is a vibrant cultural entity, closely linked to the formation and development of villages, communities, cultural spaces, and ecological landscapes of the locality.

Therefore, every year on the 10th day of the 12th lunar month, the Cam Ha Ornamental Kumquat Tree Festival is held to honor the cultural identity of the craft village, create opportunities for farmers and artisans to interact; and at the same time, to display beautiful and unique kumquat trees, gradually expanding the market and creating a unique tourism product for the locality.

On the evening of January 9th, the People's Committee of Cam Ha commune held the opening ceremony of the 9th Cam Ha Ornamental Kumquat Festival in 2025. The opening ceremony included activities such as art performances, lion and dragon dances, the launch of the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" program, demonstrations of grafting and shaping kumquat trees, and displays of beautiful and unique ornamental kumquat trees and products made from kumquats.

In addition, locals and tourists can enjoy local drinks and cuisine , visit market stalls, see OCOP products and agricultural products, and participate in traditional folk games like Bài Chòi. Tomorrow, January 10th, there will be more diverse activities such as a picture-matching contest using kumquats, a "Golden Bell" quiz; the "Flavors of Hoi An" food fair; and the " Homeland Melodies" Bolero singing contest…
