According to Samsung, the official version of One UI 8.5 will be released alongside the Galaxy S26 series in the first half of next year. After the official release, the One UI 8.5 update will be rolled out sequentially to existing Galaxy devices.

The high-end Galaxy S26 series is expected to be unveiled by Samsung at its first Unpacked event of 2026, taking place in late January or late February, before the first sales launch occurs 10 to 15 days after the Unpacked event. The global launch date of the Galaxy S26 will be considered the official release date of One UI 8.5.
If the Unpacked event takes place at the end of January, the first wave of sales will begin in early February. Conversely, if the event takes place at the end of February, the release will begin in early March. This means that current Galaxy phone users are expected to only receive One UI 8.5 after Q1 2026, as Samsung will prioritize selling new devices before rolling out the software update.
As a result, One UI 8.5 will begin rolling out on many Galaxy devices between April and June next year. Samsung has confirmed this plan aims to provide the best possible user experience.
One UI 8.5 brings a host of improvements that make Galaxy devices easier to use, enhance connectivity between devices, and improve data security.

In particular, Galaxy S25 users who participated in the Beta program can now experience many of the following notable features early.
Advanced photo editing support: The upgraded Photo Assist feature allows users to continuously edit photos without interruption. The system saves the editing history so users can easily compare and choose the best version.
Smarter Quick Share: The quick share feature can now recognize faces in photos and automatically suggest suitable recipients, making sending photos faster and more convenient.
Stream audio to multiple devices: With Audio Broadcast, users can stream audio (including voice) to Galaxy devices that support LE Audio via Auracast technology, enhancing connectivity and audio sharing experiences.
Seamless storage sharing and management: Storage Share allows file access between Samsung devices such as phones, tablets, PCs, and TVs directly within the My Files app, making data management more convenient.
Enhanced anti-theft security: The Theft Protection mechanism automatically locks the device after multiple failed unlock attempts and requires stronger identity verification when changing important settings.
