After more than half of his life in the business world, at the age of 60, Mr. Le Manh Quy (village 5, Quang Minh commune, Hai Ha district) planned to retire to enjoy the countryside, but then his fate was tied to the yellow camellia tree until now... Mr. Quy said: "I started with the yellow camellia tree as a game. Later, after many years of commitment, I realized that this was the most serious, difficult and costly business project of my life."

With the economic conditions and a love for flowers and ornamental plants, in the 2000s, Mr. Quy and his brothers in the flower-playing community often hunted for plants and flowers in the natural forest. During this process, he paid special attention to the yellow camellia tree. By studying the yellow camellia tree, Mr. Le Quy gradually learned about the beauty and medicinal effects of the yellow camellia tree. It is a precious medicinal plant that helps reduce cholesterol, reduce cardiovascular diseases, stabilize blood pressure, reduce the risk of stroke, support blood sugar reduction in diabetics, help stabilize blood sugar and reduce complications, help cool the body, detoxify the liver, treat liver diseases...

With the quickness of an experienced businessman, in the next 10 years, Mr. Quy gradually approached and mastered the techniques of planting, caring for, processing, building brands and trading yellow tea products. His yellow tea garden gradually expanded to 4 hectares, with nearly 10,000 trees, most of which were mature trees.

Mastering the process of planting and caring for yellow camellia trees cost Mr. Quy a lot of money and effort. Many of Mr. Quy's yellow camellia trees died because the trees were not suitable for grafting, the trees did not adapt when transferred from pots to soil, the trees were stunted in the garden soil, the trees did not flower or grow leaves when they reached adulthood... This means the loss of value is very large.

Mr. Quy shared: "The yellow camellia tree is a type of tree that needs moisture, but not waterlogging. It is an understory tree but needs light. Its ability to withstand dryness and heat is very poor... Therefore, raising them is easy but difficult."

In 2014, Mr. Quy established Quy Hoa Trading Service and Import-Export Company Limited with the goal of focusing on developing yellow camellia trees and products processed from yellow camellia flowers. Taking care of yellow camellia trees in an organic way to obtain large flowers, plump leaves, with a very high food safety index; harvesting by hand, when the flowers have just bloomed, with no or very few flower stems, ensuring the highest essence in the flowers; drying flowers using freeze-drying technology to increase flowers, retaining up to 99% of natural essence, 97% of shape, no different from fresh flowers on branches and leaves. After being packaged, the product has a QR code, a brand logo...

He also sells plant varieties and cooperates in production and consumption for many yellow camellia gardens, with an area of nearly 10 hectares on Hai Ha alone. From these gardens, Mr. Quy harvests about 1 ton of dried yellow camellia flowers and leaves each year. He processes these raw materials into 10 different products, which are very popular and consumed by the market, generating nearly ten billion VND in revenue per year, with profits reaching 30% of revenue.

In 2022, Quy Hoa golden flower tea products were ranked 5 stars by the Central OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council. This is the motivation for Mr. Le Manh Quy to plan to export golden flower tea abroad, including to demanding markets.
