High-tech, clean and organic agricultural production in the province

Authorized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Van Phuong chaired the conference. Also attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches and People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, and enterprises operating in agricultural production and processing in the province.

After 2 years of implementing the project, basically the objectives according to Plan 312 of the Provincial People's Committee are being implemented on schedule by departments, branches and localities. Up to now, the whole province has more than 14,000 hectares of clean production on cashew trees, pepper, fruit trees and crops, rice. Of which, clean production on cashew trees is 6,628 hectares, clean pepper is 2,535 hectares, clean production on fruit trees is 4,500 hectares, on vegetables and rice is 500 hectares. High technology application in pig farming has reached 291/421 farms. Focusing on building disease-free livestock farming areas in Chon Thanh town, Hon Quan district and maintaining success in 6 livestock and poultry farming areas in districts, towns and cities in the province...

However, attracting investment in the field of high-tech agriculture associated with processing is still very modest compared to the potential and strengths of the province; agricultural processing technology is not high, deeply processed products are still limited; agricultural production is mainly small-scale, scattered, and of low quality due to weak cooperation in production, processing, and consumption of products. Brand building, packaging labels, and traceability are still limited, most of the products have not been registered for food safety certificates, VietGAP, GloBalGAP, organic, and product labeling...

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and exchanging experiences on solutions to expand the registration of geographical indication protection for “ Binh Phuoc Cashew Nuts” in foreign markets; promote the development of production chains, linking product consumption; develop intellectual property for agricultural products and services; support policies for high-tech agricultural cooperatives, clean agriculture, organic agriculture in the production and consumption of agricultural products, etc.
