
At around 9 AM, the price of SJC gold bars, as quoted by both SJC Company and Phu Quy Group, increased by 500,000 VND/ounce for both buying and selling compared to the end of yesterday afternoon, reaching 155.5 - 156 million VND/ounce for buying and 159 million VND/ounce for selling.
This morning, the price of 9999 gold rings was also increased by 500,000 VND/ounce by Phu Quy Group and SJC Company for both buying and selling compared to yesterday afternoon, listed at 155.5-155.8 million VND/ounce for buying and 158.5-158.8 million VND/ounce for selling.
On the global gold market, the price of gold closed the weekend session in Asia on May 30 (Vietnam time) at $4,540.53 per ounce, an increase of nearly $45 compared to the closing price in New York on the night of May 29. After conversion, this price is equivalent to approximately 144.4 million VND per tael, which is about 14.4-14.6 million VND per tael lower than the domestic gold price.
Global gold prices continued their recovery, surpassing $4,500 per ounce after news emerged that the US and Iran may have reached an agreement to extend their ceasefire. In addition, the decline in oil prices and the US dollar also contributed to the rise in the precious metal. At the close of trading, WTI crude oil futures for the nearest delivery month in New York fell 1.73% to $87.36 per barrel. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil in London lost 1.77% to $92.05 per barrel. The DXY index, which measures the strength of the US dollar against six major currencies, fell 0.11% to 98.91 points.
