The existential psychological play * The June Farewell* by the great Russian playwright Aleksandr Vampilov (1937-1972) is one of the masterpieces of world theater.
Aleksandr Vampilov, who began writing plays in the 1960s, is one of Russia's most renowned playwrights of the 20th century. His plays have been translated into many languages and adapted into numerous films.

The script for "The June Farewell" was staged by student-director Hoang Tran Thi Dinh as an experimental play for her graduation project in directing, class K9, at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Film.
The play " The June Farewell" highlights a problem in modern society: the existential crisis faced by graduates, young people caught between many career choices, concerns about romantic relationships, and the difficulties of growing up with worries about making ends meet. They confront the realities of life with much uncertainty, hesitation, and careful consideration before choosing a path and making major decisions in their early lives. Especially with the development of science and technology, Gen Z also faces pressure regarding their "place" in the competitive cycle of life.

With her experimental theatrical approach, director Hoang Tran Thi Dinh staged the play on a stage completely devoid of props, while simultaneously pushing the performance of both theatrical languages—action and speech—to their highest potential.
Although she knew that experimental theater was quite risky, the female director was determined to go ahead with it because she wanted to challenge herself and contribute her youthful energy to organizing and performing more experimental and academic theatrical works.

In November 2025, the 5B Small Stage Theatre also had very successful performances of the experimental play "Illusion" (written and directed by Chinh Ba). The play was staged to participate in the 2025 International Experimental Theatre Festival.
This also represents a fresh change for the 5B Small Stage Theatre in its performance organization and audience service, contributing to the stronger promotion of the value and style of experimental theatre performances at 5B. It also demonstrates the heartfelt support of People's Artist My Uyen in assisting young directors who love experimental theatre and trial plays.
