On the morning of February 16th, the 26th Ham Thuan Nam District - Binh Thuan Province Open Ta Cu Mountain Climbing Competition 2024 will officially begin in Thuan Nam town, Ham Thuan Nam district.

According to the organizers, there are currently 12 participating teams in the open category, 13 teams of athletes from within the province, and 22 teams from Ham Thuan Nam district . The competition applies to all three categories, with individual, team (men and women), and overall team prizes. Specifically , male athletes will run 4,000m and climb 2,300m (6,300m total) ; female athletes will run 3,000m and climb 2,300m (5,300m total). Ta Cu Mountain, with its altitude of 694m and slopes ranging from 40 to 65 degrees , will present a significant challenge for individual competitors .

The Ta Cu Mountain Climbing Race, organized by Ham Thuan Nam District, has been elevated to a cultural and sporting event, meeting the recreational needs of the local people and tourists during the New Year. This is the 26th edition of the race, organized by the Ham Thuan Nam District People's Committee to commemorate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024) and to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024.

Accordingly , delegations of athletes from provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai , Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Lam Dong, etc., have now gathered in Ham Thuan Nam. A notable addition to this year's competition is the participation of a delegation from Dau Tieng district, Binh Duong province .
