For fans of GREY D, the image of the singer holding a guitar and singing love songs has become a "trademark." However, few know that his connection with music began with the purest instincts of a young boy. Recalling his childhood, GREY D says he can't remember exactly how music found him. He only remembers that whenever he was in a certain mood, the young boy would go to the middle of the house or in front of the house to... sit and sing.
"I heard my parents say that I knew how to sing before I knew how to read. That was when I went to a karaoke bar; I couldn't read at all, but I could still sing normally because I had memorized the lyrics. Music came to me very naturally ," the male singer confided.

The guitar has played an incredibly important role in shaping the versatile artist he is today. Starting to play guitar in the 6th or 7th grade, those first simple chords led Grey D down the path of songwriting. Even later, when he was glued to his computer for mixing and arranging and had less time to hold the guitar, for him, the sound of the guitar always evoked the most primal and genuine emotions.
The philosophy of this profession is to nurture the audience with their hearts.
Despite showing talent from an early age and having been involved with the guitar for over 10 years, it wasn't until recently that Grey D truly realized he could make a living and pursue music professionally. The young singer admits to having gone through a period of uncertainty and feeling lost, a common "ailment" for many newcomers to the arts. He was once caught between countless questions: Should he focus on building personal brand recognition or pouring his efforts into his work? Should he prioritize his image or his music?

And then, after directly experiencing setbacks and reflecting on his own experiences, GREY D found his own answer. His choice was to look inward. "I realized that I'm nurturing the audience with my soul, through my works. For a work to be complete, my soul must first be complete as well. Only then can there be genuine emotion. When a work has clear emotional resonance, it will naturally spread more easily and people will empathize more easily. Therefore, the most accurate path is to invest in one's own soul," GREY D confided.
GREY D confessed that the way he nourishes his soul is... eating. " I only put quality things into my head. My ears must listen to beautiful music, my food must be delicious, the words I absorb must be beautiful and meaningful, and my eyes must see beautiful things. I 'feed' my soul with those things. Then, after a long time, that beauty will seep in and positively influence me. Another important thing is that I always try to keep my energy stable, only interacting with truly positive energy sources," GREY D said.
Being deeply aware of caring for all five senses to fully experience the inner world sometimes makes him temporarily forget about his glamorous appearance. Grey D honestly admits that when he focuses on songwriting and working, he often neglects his appearance because he devotes all his attention to his soul. "But once I've finished the product, that's when I start paying attention to my appearance for promotional purposes," the singer said with a laugh.
Grey D's artistic journey has been marked not only by favorable circumstances but also by turning points that demanded maturity. The fact that a young boy decided to move south, then went to Hanoi alone to participate in training courses at such a young age, without much independent living experience, was a huge shock to his family.

When asked about his parents' specific reaction at the time, Grey D shared a touching detail: "My parents didn't react much at all. For me, it was their silence, their lack of reaction... that was the most shocking. But I think deep down, they were very worried about me," he said.
It was that silent concern from his family that became the driving force for him to constantly strive, assert himself, and become the mature and profound musician GREY D he is today.
