The main reason is that this intersection is currently closed. Vehicles from Phu Long Bridge wanting to turn left onto National Highway 13 must turn right and make a U-turn at the National Highway 13 - Vinh Phu 42 intersection (about 200m away), leading to increased traffic congestion.
Despite the installation of signs prohibiting left turns and U-turns between 6 AM and 10 PM to reduce intersections, many vehicles, especially motorcycles, still disregard the regulations, posing a potential traffic safety risk.
To resolve this situation, the Department of Construction, in coordination with the City Police, the People's Committees of Binh Hoa and Lai Thieu wards, inspected the site and agreed on a plan to reopen the Phu Long Bridge - National Highway 13 intersection, while relocating the toll station to a suitable location.
The reopening of the intersection is expected to take place in May 2026. In the meantime, authorities will intensify inspections and strictly penalize violations to ensure traffic order and safety in the area.
